Now that winter is almost here, it’s time to perform some seasonal care on your vehicle. These car service tips from Red Wing Chevrolet will help you get your vehicle set for safe and efficient driving throughout the cold season.

Check and Charge Your Battery

Cold weather is tough on car batteries. An aged battery may work fine in the fall, only to fail you in the winter. Get your battery checked now to avoid a jump later. Be sure to keep jumper cables and reflective safety cones in your vehicle just in case you need them.

Tire Pressure

Your tires are also more sensitive in the winter time. Cold temperatures can cause major fluctuation in tire pressure. But for the safest and most efficient driving, you want your tires to be in good condition. Check your tire pressure regularly throughout the winter and watch for any damage or worn tread.

Windshield Wiper Fluid

With snow, ice, and road salt in the mix, you’ll be fighting a dirty windshield all season. Make sure that your windshield wiper fluid is topped off and that your wiper blades are in good condition so that you’ll have clear visibility this winter.

We’d also like to say Congratulations to Scott Hegseth. Scott is salesman of the month and has been for the past few months. He has received many many customer comments and reviews on his willingness go to go out of his way for customers. Scott too is great to work with! He works hard every month and it shows!

Red Wing Chevrolet Buick Cadillac once again has earned the dealership Mark of Excellence Award for 2014. I am so proud of our dealership, staff, co-workers and customers for helping us achieve this goal for two years in a row! We earned awards this year for both Chevrolet and Buick. However, if you answered “YES”, then please keep reading and see if you’d like a career in the automotive field.

Red Wing Chevrolet Buick Cadillac is looking at hiring two sales people and you could be one of them. Here’s what we offer, if you think it’s a fit for you, great! If not, that’s ok, maybe but we’d appreciate it if you’d pass the word along to any interested parties.

We do NOT want uncomfortable customers, we want HAPPY customers and being pushy does not make people happy. Customers can buy when they are ready, not when we are.

3. Competitive and straightforward pricing and relaxed work environment. That’s a lot for one sentence. We have pricing tools here that price our vehicles competitively within the market. We are usually below what the  competitors are asking for similar a vehicle. You will be able to present and show this to customers when selling vehicles. It’s the straightforward part of the pricing!

OnStar Offers Real-Time Updates on Santa’s Progress in Red Wing, MN

 

OnStar to donate a dollar to United Way for each Santa call received

[Red Wing, MN] – For the sixth consecutive year, OnStar is providing U.S., Canada and Mexico subscribers the opportunity to learn Santa’s whereabouts on his journey across the globe Christmas Eve.  With the press of the blue OnStar button, Red Wing, MN drivers can be informed of Santa’s location at that moment in time.

Through collaboration with the North American Aerospace Defense Command’s (NORAD) Tracks Santa program anyone with an active OnStar subscription can request a “Santa Update” between 7 a.m. on December 24 until 5 a.m. EST on December 25. OnStar advisors will provide Santa’s location based on NORAD’s official Santa Radar Plot Map.

“My 2-year-old son has finally reached the age where he is excited about Santa,” said Keitha Martin, a GMC Acadia owner and OnStar subscriber. “This year we will be following Santa’s journey to deliver his gifts through OnStar. My husband and I are just as excited for this magical experience!”

This year for each Santa call received, OnStar will donate a dollar to United Way for Southeastern Michigan.

“We are grateful to OnStar for making United Way for Southeastern Michigan the recipient of dollars raised through the program to chart Santa’s progress,” said United Way for Southeast Michigan President and CEO Michael J. Brennan, “We are pleased to be part of a program that brings such delight to so many during this holiday season.”

OnStar is dedicated to the safety and security of subscribers year-round. To accommodate the volume of calls seeking Santa’s location, advisor staffing is adjusted to accommodate the extra traffic.

“We are happy to provide our subscribers with a special way to get into the holiday spirit,” said Terry Inch, OnStar chief operating officer. “OnStar’s advisors enjoy responding to these calls and helping make the season a little more joyous.”

Individuals without an OnStar subscription can follow Santa’s journey via the NORAD Tracks Santa website, Facebook page, Twitter hashtag #NORADSanta or by calling the hotline at 1-877-HI-NORAD (1-877-446-6723).
