Born Again: Next-Gen Chevrolet Malibu Announced

Larger, lighter and more efficient Malibu to be unveiled at New York Auto Show

Red Wing, MN – Designed to deliver more efficiency, connectivity and advanced safety features than ever, the next-generation 2016 Chevrolet Malibu will make its public debut at the New York International Auto Show this April.
Using a blank slate approach, Chevrolet designers benefited from an entirely new architecture, which for Malibu includes a wheelbase nearly four inches longer than the outgoing model. That, in turn, provides increased rear legroom and interior space.
“Chevrolet has earned an impressive lineup of industry awards over the past year,” said Brad Banitt of Red Wing Chevrolet. “The upcoming debut of the next-generation Malibu will only continue the brand’s momentum and customer excitement.”
Due to a higher-strength steel structure, the new Malibu is also expected to be 300 pounds lighter than the current model, which benefits the sedan’s fuel economy and handling.
“Malibu’s gorgeous styling is the result of a masterful understanding of proportions,” said Ed Welburn, General Motors’ vice president of Global Design. “The roofline has been stretched rearward giving a more sleek profile, while the front wheels have moved forward and front and rear overhangs have been reduced. Along with the sculpted body side, these cues help Malibu appear more dynamic and sophisticated.”
The 2016 Malibu is expected to go on sale by the end of 2015.

2. Comfortable and non-confrontational selling process. We have a brand new building, it’s not even 2 years old. It’s cool in the summer and warm in the winter and exceptionally clean. We take pride in the building and our GM dealership as a whole. Our selling process is not pushy! We do NOT want uncomfortable customers, we want HAPPY customers and being pushy does not make people happy. Customers can buy when they are ready, not when we are.

3. Competitive and straightforward pricing and relaxed work environment. That’s a lot for one sentence. We have pricing tools here that price our vehicles competitively within the market. We are usually below what the  competitors are asking for similar a vehicle. You will be able to present and show this to customers when selling vehicles. It’s the straightforward part of the pricing!

4. Financial Freedom to make what you deserve and generate significant income. If you work hard and come to work ready to work, then this sentence speaks for itself.

Wishing you a Happy New Year

#Jan 4th, 2015

As I type this on Sunday morning I’m wondering where do I start here?? I can wish our friends, customers, and co-workers a happy new year then leave it at that, period, happy new year, ok done. Since it’s 2015 and I want to challenge myself to write these blogs with a little more genuine feel to them, I’m going to have to do better than that.  So here goes. Yikes!

My son is asleep on the couch, my husband is getting ready to go ice fishing (even though the wind chill is set today for somewhere between -20 to -30 below, but we like fish and someone’s gotta do it). Our daughter is off to the Mall of America for a little shopping and fun. I’ve already printed off my recipe for homemade caramel sauce and my 52 week savings plan and put my first dollar into the jar. My new year’s resolution list is done. Just kidding! Also, it’s quiet here today, which is nice but forces me to do things like this…lol.

There won’t be much talk in this blog today about Chevrolet, Buick or Cadillac. I haven’t been to work since Christmas Eve Day. That’s 5 days away from work so I will give 5 reason’s why I’m ready to go back to reality tomorrow:

1. The new 2015 Colorado should be in by then. The last one sold so fast, I never got to see it or drive it. Bummer…did I mention I was on vacation the day it sold so don’t feel too bad for me. There will be more. This will be the only “vehicle” mention in this blog. I really am excited to get back and see it!

2. Who will be the employee of the month? That is always a fun meeting reading nominations from fellow employees on who they thought went over and above in their daily routine. People do see good things and like to mention them about their co-workers. It has a positive impact at our dealership. I don’t think a lot of places do this, maybe they do but I don’t hear about it much.

3. New Years Eve! What did everyone do? Where did they go? What fancy place did they eat at? Did they stay home like most people I know did? What are there resolution’s for 2015?

4. My daughter is working at the dealership Monday through Thursday this week ! I’ll get to ride with her to work and back almost every day! She is in college at Iowa State University and is home on winter break. Big deal to me for this extra time with her before she heads back to ISU next Sunday.

5. This one’s very obvious. It’s Sunday, I’m at home. I’m working at home. I’m writing a blog for work from home… Time to get creative again. Time to put some new ideas in motion. Time to…

Time to call my mom!  My mom’s birthday is today, I must keep this short, phone call to be made.

So truly have a great 2015 everyone, from all of us at Red Wing Chevrolet, WE WISH YOU A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR and I do too!

OnStar Offers Real-Time Updates on Santa’s Progress in Red Wing, MN

 

OnStar to donate a dollar to United Way for each Santa call received

[Red Wing, MN] – For the sixth consecutive year, OnStar is providing U.S., Canada and Mexico subscribers the opportunity to learn Santa’s whereabouts on his journey across the globe Christmas Eve.  With the press of the blue OnStar button, Red Wing, MN drivers can be informed of Santa’s location at that moment in time.

Through collaboration with the North American Aerospace Defense Command’s (NORAD) Tracks Santa program anyone with an active OnStar subscription can request a “Santa Update” between 7 a.m. on December 24 until 5 a.m. EST on December 25. OnStar advisors will provide Santa’s location based on NORAD’s official Santa Radar Plot Map.

“My 2-year-old son has finally reached the age where he is excited about Santa,” said Keitha Martin, a GMC Acadia owner and OnStar subscriber. “This year we will be following Santa’s journey to deliver his gifts through OnStar. My husband and I are just as excited for this magical experience!”

This year for each Santa call received, OnStar will donate a dollar to United Way for Southeastern Michigan.

“We are grateful to OnStar for making United Way for Southeastern Michigan the recipient of dollars raised through the program to chart Santa’s progress,” said United Way for Southeast Michigan President and CEO Michael J. Brennan, “We are pleased to be part of a program that brings such delight to so many during this holiday season.”

OnStar is dedicated to the safety and security of subscribers year-round. To accommodate the volume of calls seeking Santa’s location, advisor staffing is adjusted to accommodate the extra traffic.

“We are happy to provide our subscribers with a special way to get into the holiday spirit,” said Terry Inch, OnStar chief operating officer. “OnStar’s advisors enjoy responding to these calls and helping make the season a little more joyous.”

The 2015 Buick Encore Offers Distinctive Styling for Red Wing MN area Drivers

Red Wing, MN – The 2015 Buick Encore, now available at Red Wing Chevrolet Buick Cadillac, introduce Red Wing,MN area drivers to the Encore’s sculpted styling that identifies it as a contemporary Buick.

“The inspiration for the 2015 Buick Encore’s style was to combine luxury and efficiency in an effortless way,” said Brad Banitt of Red Wing Buick. “From a crowded street to the open road, the Encore adapts easily for Red Wing drivers and does so in a stylish and sculpted body.”

Signature cues include a waterfall grille, chrome accents and surrounds, portholes on the hood and painted lower panels. Standard body-color door handles with chrome strips and a styled, stainless steel exhaust tip add to the premium look.

Blue-accented halogen composite projector-beam headlamps and detailed taillamps further enhance the exterior and are designed to give the Encore an unmistakable signature on Red Wing, MN area roads. While the 18-inch, five-spoke painted aluminum wheels are standard, seven-spoke chromed aluminum wheels are available.

Interior upholstery and color combinations include: upscale cloth with leatherette accents in a choice of Ebony or Medium Titanium with Ebony accents; and leather-appointed seats in a choice of Ebony, Medium Titanium with Ebony accents, and Saddle with Cocoa accents. New, upscale fabric seat inserts are offered on 1SB and 1SD trims for 2015.

Red Wing, Oct. 2, 2014 – In the spirit of teamwork taught by youth sports, Red Wing Chevrolet Buick Cadillac is teaming up with Red Wing Hockey Association to provide players and coaches with hockey equipment kits that include hockey pucks, t-shirts and knit caps, a sponsorship check and an opportunity for community members to enter the free Ultimate Pro Hockey Experience sweepstakes.

Red Wing Chevrolet Buick Cadillac and other Minneapolis-St Paul-area Chevrolet dealerships are donating these items to participating leagues in the area.

Each of the sponsored leagues across the region will receive 2,000 free sweepstakes entry forms to distribute within the community.  At the end of two entry periods, one in December and one in February, four lucky winners will receive Minnesota Wild game tickets or gear from Minnesota Hockey.

After the February entry period, one winner from the Minneapolis-St Paul area will win the Ultimate Pro Hockey Package, which includes four tickets to a Minnesota Wild game, in addition to hotel accommodations and all-access passes.

Red Wing Chevrolet Buick Cadillac will also present a check representing a one-time monetary contribution to Red Wing Hockey Association.
